About

From a pandemic hobby to a family nursery

Miaoasis began during the pandemic, when the world got very small and we all went looking for something to hold onto. For me, that something was anthuriums.

I fell for the dark and velvety ones first — the species with leaves so deep and soft they look like black velvet under the light. Before long I was obsessed: hunting down rare species, learning their quirks, filling every corner I could find. What started as collecting quietly turned into breeding.

There’s nothing quite like raising a plant from seed — watching a seedling push out its first true leaf and knowing no one else on earth has one exactly like it. Collecting and breeding are simply fun. And fun like this is worth sharing.

The name Miaoasis is for my daughter. She was born around the time this little nursery took shape, and I named it after her. My wish is simple: that she grows up healthy and strong, just like the plants here. Every seedling is raised with that same hope and care.

We’re a family nursery on Long Island, New York. Our plants grow in our garage and basement — ordinary rooms, ordinary home conditions, nothing pampered in a lab. So when a Miaoasis plant arrives at your home, it already knows how to live there. It settles in quickly, because your home feels familiar.

Everything we offer, we grew ourselves — bred, raised, and packed by hand. No reselling, no middlemen. Just a breeder sharing the plants he loves with people who will love them too.
